A native Greenvillian, Whitney’s proud of her ever-growing hometown and stays involved in the community by volunteering in a number of ways. She is the Salon Curator for TEDxGreenville as well as a member of the conference planning team. She is also Vice-Chair of Greenville Chautauqua, the way she wishes history would have been presented when she attended JL Mann High School back in the stone ages. The former executive director of The International Center (she can apologize in seven languages and swear in at least three), she maintains that international investment was the best thing to ever happen to the Upstate. Professionally, she’s the Director of Business Development with Retreats Resources, a role that allows her to travel to stunning resorts and actually write it off. When she’s not traveling, she’s probably on stage with her band, Groove Planet, belting out Gladys Knight and wondering why no one calls them “albums” anymore. The former member of Clemson’s “Tiger Tailgate Show” broadcast for seven years, she speaks football as fluently as, well, English… which is the only language she actually speaks fluently. She’s a theater alum of Centre Stage, Theater on the Green, the Foothills Playhouse, and Cafe and Then Some. She enjoys cooking for family and friends, a good glass of wine, an even better cup of coffee, and occasionally standing in her closet complaining she has nothing to wear. She’s married to her magnificent husband, John, and her humor is somewhat tolerated by her two daughters, Avery and Sutton, between eye rolls.
